French tattoo artist, JC Sheitan Tenet, may be the first to ever wield a prosthetic that also doubles as a tattoo gun. It was not easy for the tattooing artist to teach himself and to draw and tattoo using his non-dominant arm. However, it didn’t get on the way of his dream of becoming a tattoo artist.

This is a handy, futuristic-looking device functions as both a tattoo gun and prosthetic arm. The amazing, dual-purpose invention is the word’s first tattooing prosthesis. Fit with “pieces of a typewriter, monometer and pipes,” the epic machine was designed in such a way that Tenet can adjust it and alter the settings depending on his needs.
The piece was created using an existing prosthesis that belongs to Tenet. Recently a video of the arm in action was released, as Tenet uses his new extension to complete some artwork on a client. Many tattooists may joke that their tattoo gun is an extension of themselves, but it’s quite literal for Tenet, as he skillfully inks people with his new arm.
JC Sheitan Tenet lost his right arm in an accident when he was only 10 years old, this became quite a challenge as he had to learn to perform tasks with his left hand, his non-dominant hand, and he saw how his dream of being cartoonist was disappearing. Fortunately, Tenet did not give up and learned to draw with his left hand and from there came the idea of being a tattoo artist, something that was not easy because many artists rejected him as an apprentice when they saw his disability.
Jean-Louis Gonzales, came the idea of designing and manufacturing a prosthesis that would integrate his most important work tool: his tattoo machine. This is how Gonzal mounted the machine on an old Tenet prosthesis, added parts from a typewriter and a gramophone, this to give it a steampunk look, and the final touch came with a rusty paint finish.
